On August 29th, we had the pleasure of hosting our second teacher training on Service-Learning (SL), organized as part of the SLIPS project.
As this methodology is still not widely known in Portugal, our aim was to create a session that was not only informative but also dynamic and engaging. The training began with an interactive Mentimeter activity, followed by an introduction to the fundamentals of Service-Learning — including its core concepts, types of service, and some common misconceptions.
The highlight of the session was a group exercise: each team was assigned a specific Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) and asked to design a Service-Learning project around it. The participants then presented their projects, inspiring discussions and the exchange of innovative ideas.
The result was a truly enriching experience — full of creativity, collaboration, and motivation to continue exploring the potential of Service-Learning in education.
