The partners gathered on the 30th of June in Faro to kick off the project and plan the implementation of the following Intellectual outputs: a didactic methodology, a training course on the production and marketing of organic olives and olive oil, a manual for trainers, a platform with interactive repository section, a guide on certification of organic olives and olive oil and utilization of olive groves’ potential.
On the 1st of July, the partners had a study visit to the Monterosa olive farm and olive oil factory. The host provided a tour through the factory presenting all the operations that are happening through the production cycle of the wonderful olive oil product that we had the pleasure of tasting. The overall production requires hard work, a lot of attention, love, and attention to detail.
Olive production is not just a tradition but also a part of the cultural, gastronomic, and landscape heritage. We are happy to be a part of this project, to learn and develop alongside our partners and producers.
EcoOlives is a project aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the EU olive farmers and olive oil producers through developing their potential for production and promotion of organic olives and olive oil. The project will offer olive growers and olive oil-producing companies specific guidance on how they can differentiate their business by turning towards organic olives and olive oil production.
The EcoOlives project is implemented by 6 partners from 6 countries: Germany (ITALCAM), Italy (GAL MOLISE), Portugal (OTB Europe), Cyprus (EUROSC), Bulgaria (AVA), and Spain (Municipality of La Palma del Condado).
The project is co-financed by the Erasmus+ KA2 Programme of the European Commission.
