We are delighted to share the highlights of the first of three inspiring talks on financial literacy that occurred in Olhão, Faro – Portugal, on the 17th of July. These talks are a result of the collaborative efforts of the Finfluencers project.
This event brought together eight young and enthusiastic individuals for an engaging and insightful discussion about various financial aspects. Titled “Ice Breaking – Introduction – Why Finfluencers,” this interactive session aimed to empower the youth with essential financial knowledge and skills.
In today’s ever-changing world, it has become imperative to equip the younger generation with financial literacy to navigate the complexities of personal finance successfully. Understanding the importance of this crucial skill, the Portuguese Network Leader, who belongs to the “Finfluencers”, organized this talk to facilitate dialogue and learning among young participants.
The talk commenced with an ice-breaking session, allowing everyone to connect on a personal level and set a comfortable tone for the day’s discussions. Building a welcoming environment, participants were encouraged to express their financial concerns and aspirations, fostering open communication and camaraderie.
The introduction segment focused on why financial literacy is a vital component in the journey towards financial well-being. The facilitator highlighted the significance of making informed financial decisions, setting goals, and building healthy financial habits from an early age. By addressing the “why” of financial literacy, the participants gained a deeper understanding of its relevance and impact on their lives.
