FRIIV – Female Refugees Integration and Inclusion through Volunteering is a European project that supports the inclusion of female refugees by helping them take part in volunteering activities. It is based on a simple idea: volunteering can help women rebuild confidence, connect with others and gain skills that support their integration.
The project also trains volunteer managers and women who used to be refugees, so they can better guide and support new female volunteers. By improving how organisations welcome and work with refugee women, FRIIV aims to create more open, diverse and supportive volunteering environments across Europe.
Over the next three years, the partners will:
- study the needs and barriers refugee women face in volunteering
- develop a practical training programme
- test this programme in several countries
- share the results widely so more organisations can benefit
FRIIV project.
FRIIV’s goal is to make volunteering a real opportunity for refugee women to participate, grow and feel part of their new communities.
