We are thrilled to share the exciting news from the Escola de Verão de Voluntariado (EVV2024) held in the city of Évora on the 5th of July. The event brought together individuals and organizations dedicated to volunteering, and among the presentations was the SLIPS project (Service Learning in Primary Schools).
The SLIPS project was highlighted as part of a panel on “Innovative Ideas in Volunteering”. This panel focused on initiatives that are making a significant impact on communities through creative and effective volunteer strategies.
SLIPS aims to integrate service learning into primary school curricula, encouraging young students to engage in community service projects that complement their academic learning. This approach not only enhances educational outcomes but also fosters a sense of social responsibility and community involvement from a young age.
